Our frequent itinerary changes in Costa Rica resulted in us spending 4 days in the paradise that is Manuel Antonio. While Manuel Antonio is by far the most expensive city we stayed in while in Costa Rica, it is also the best place to relax. There are tons of great water sports and activities to do here, but we spent most of our time splashing around the gorgeous beaches. I’ll give you the lowdown on all there is to do there, but don’t be surprised if you turn into a beach bum like I did. Although this Costa Rica trip was originally going to be an all girls trip, my mom, sister, and I decided to drag my dad along last minute. This resulted in us reworking our carefully planned itinerary. Because of that, this post includes not only what our itinerary looked like, but what a recommended itinerary looks like as well. That way, you don’t make the same mistakes we did and end up missing some cool sites! Click to read the Costa Rica Travel Guide: La Fortuna and Monteverde edition.View Post
The most common advice I received when researching Costa Rica was “don’t spend any time in San Jose or near the airport whatsoever.” So it’s not exactly a popular destination amongst visitors. Due to a series of last-minute itinerary changes because #familytravel, we found ourselves stuck in Alajuela (where the airport is) for three full days! Yikes. Luckily, travel research is totally my game. So if you find yourself in Alajuela for longer than you’d like to be, don’t worry!
