I don’t think most people have strong urges to visit Bilbao, to be honest. Oftentimes, people haven’t heard of it. If they have, they only know it as the city with one of the Guggenheim museums. Of all the cities I visited in Spain, Bilbao wasn’t one of my favorites or anything. However, I argue that it’s still worth visiting, especially if you’re already planning on spending time in any of the other cities in Northeastern Spain. Bilbao is an architectural beauty and is home to every type of building, from old Gothic cathedrals to ultra modern pieces of art. Despite its reputation as an “ugly” city only visited by businessmen and women, Bilbao retains a small-town charm beneath the hustle and bustle. It offers plenty to do and see in terms of culture and art and is a foodie city in its own right. See how I spent a few days in this cosmopolitan and diverse city, complete with where to go, what to eat, and where to stay, all while on a budget.View Post
