After publishing my last post about tips for traveling to Muslim countries during Ramadan, someone reached out to me and asked, what about for Muslims? What’s it like to travel while fasting, and what tips do I have for doing so? I’ve only ever traveled while fasting once – back in 2012. I took on the challenge of 2.5 weeks of fast-paced travel in the summer heat of Southeast Asia during Ramadan. Needless to say, it was a serious struggle. Thanks to that trip, I have plenty of suggestions on how to make your travels enjoyable without having a hangry breakdown. These are my tips for traveling while fasting.

Every year on the 9th month of the lunar calendar, millions of Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset for 30 days.
