While Amsterdam is a city well-known for its biking culture, coffee shops, and crazy nightlife, the city I experienced was completely different. Since I was fortunate enough to see it with a local, the Amsterdam I experienced was charming and friendly. Dotted with trendy cafes, a smorgasbord of ethnic foods, and beautiful colored houses, Amsterdam is rich in history and culture when you explore past the well-worn tourist paths. See how I spent a few days in this delightful city, complete with where to go, what to eat, and where to stay, all while on a budget.
